The Carolina Thunder was an American Basketball Association team that played its games in Concord, North Carolina at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. Their only season was 2004-2005 and was coached by former NBA player Brian Rowsom. The team’s assistant coaches were Robert Jaye Floyd, Tim Anderson, Deshon Gaither and Derrick Hamilton. Some of the team’s roster included former NBA players Chris Robinson and Byron Dinkins. Also on the roster were 3 players who moved on to play in the NBA's developmental league (NBDL) Anthony Terrell, Anthony Wilkins and George Leach. The team was co owned by Tony Priscaro and former Pittsburgh Steeler player Duane Woodruff.

Current Cleveland Cavaliers forward Jamario Moon played for the Carolina Thunder before making it to the NBA.

Carolina Thunder was also a world finalist Independent World percussion group, established in Charlotte, North Carolina in the late 90s through 2000. This group was set out to discover uncharted territory, and set new musical and conceptual boundaries, with their very intense and emotional presence and ideas.

A group with similar ideas called Constitution was founded by members of Carolina Thunder, and are making their debut in the World Class as well, in 2007. Great things are to come from this group and their teachers.
